If you have attended the Last Post act of remembrance at the Menin Gate in Ypres, then you will have heard the Exhortation.

The Exhortation derives from a verse in Laurence Binyon's poem, 'For the fallen':

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.".

From time to time you may also hear John Maxwell Edmonds (1875-1958) 'Kohima'.
